Within a biopharmaceutical company headquartered in Germany, a system for Electronic Document Management (EDM) & Electronic Submission Management (ESM) is put in place. The project that covers the selection, implementation and the rollout of the new system components started in 2008 and the system is expected to enter full scope production in Jan. 2010. For the system, which is expected to be used by up to 1.000 employees that are distributed across the globe, the majority of the hands-on trainings are delivered as face to face trainings, complemented by a short introductory eLearning module as well as in a second and third step with further eLearning modules. The additional modules are set up to reach especially colleague working in remote locations and are planned to substitue some of the face to face trainings covering very basic functionalities, whereas more comprehensive trainings covering also the advanced functionalities would still be covered in a face to face setting. The additional eLearning modules will also serve as and will be integrated into help sources / and/or as refresher-trainings. Further eLearning modules are to be developed as delta-training modules in case of system updates / new releases.
